What is P-TECH
At Lopez Early College High School, the P-TECH program, in collaboration with Texas State Technical College (TSTC), aims to empower students with a seamless transition to postsecondary education and the workforce. This innovative program allows students to earn a high school diploma while simultaneously obtaining industry-recognized certifications in welding. Participants gain a blend of academic knowledge, technical expertise, and professional skills crucial for success in competitive STEM fields.
Welding serves as the backbone of manufacturing across many fast-growing industries, from construction to aerospace. Our program is dedicated to equipping students with the credentials, hands-on experience, and problem-solving skills required to excel in these high-demand careers. By providing a clear pathway from high school through higher education and into the workforce, we strive to shape the next generation of skilled professionals in the welding industry.
The P-TECH program offers a strong foundation for lifelong learning, career advancement, and economic opportunity, preparing graduates to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities in the dynamic world of manufacturing and technology.
